the definitive zine about zines

Finally got my copy of Finite + Flammable. Seeing the letters cut out like that really brings me back.

OH YEAH! This thing! You can still order it.

BTW this happened.

BTW this happened.

If you order Finite + Flammable today, we'll mail it tomorrow, so that you can stick it in someone's stocking. Or somewhere!

My armchair punk rock enthusiasm was insatiable, but limited to what I could glean from scouring the liner notes of cassettes and CDs I either bought or, in my juvenile ignorance, stole. My parents would knock on the door and peek their heads in: “Are you doing your homework?” I was. I sat Indian style on the floor listening to Crass, surrounded by album inserts, mapping out the genealogy of the Dischord family tree.

We had a party.

On Wednesday we had a party at ABC No Rio.

Our pals from Jersey City’s Curious Matter gallery set up a mini-version of their amazing Parisian-style mobile zine and chapbook kiosk, Le Bouquiniste. (They also snapped these photos.)

Our zine was hot off the presses that afternoon. Lightning Copy on 42nd Street was the best! But with Mercury being retrograde and all, it was still a close one. Punk rock, etc.

Stories were told, with hand gestures.

We enjoyed readings from contributors, including an enlightening installment called “How to Build a Boudoir” from Elisabeth Donnelly’s high school notebook.

Then somebody knocked over the wine table, and that’s how we knew the night was a success!

If you missed it, not to worry, you can still order Finite + Flammable for $5 postage paid.
